About Course

OLCT is a 30-hour, virtual, on-demand training course for leadership coaches and aspiring coaches. Leadership coaching includes executive coaching, team coaching, large audience coaching, and senior leader coaching.

What Will You Learn?

  • Internal coaches will add coaching skill to your leadership toolkit.
  • External coaches will learn how to run an effective coaching business/practice.
  • Become TLP Coach Certified.
  • Earn 30 approved hours toward a CCE Credential (Board Certified Coach).

Course Content

MODULE 1 – GETTING STARTED
The first part of this module includes an orientation to the course, including process, resources, timeline, and more. The second half of the module introduces students to the field, practice, and history of coaching.

MODULE 2 – COACHING PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICES
In this module, we will dive right into what coaching looks and feels like, from the framework and model to the best practices and tips for success.

MODULE 3 – ASSESSMENT
Assessing a coachee is a critical component of coaching. There are forms of assessment that take place before, during, and after a formal coaching engagement. In this module, we will explore a few widely-used tools.

MODULE 4 – ETHICS AND LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS
Whether running a coaching practice, or simply applying coaching internally as a manager, it is critical that you understand the wide landscape of the law and ethics. We'll introduce you to some of the considerations you will need to keep in mind.

MODULE 5 – RUNNING A COACHING PRACTICE
This module is specifically for those who are or aspire to be professional (external) coaches. However, all participants will gain value from understanding the principles covered here.

MODULE 6 – INTERNAL COACHING
This module is specifically for those who are or aspire to be coaches in your organization as a leader/coach. Again, while this applies to only a portion of our course participants, the familiarity with these concepts will be helpful to external coaches as well. You will be coaching some of the leaders who are themselves coaching inside their comapnies!

MODULE 7 – PRACTICE ACTIVITIES
Nothing creates learning like practice! In this module, you will have an opportunity to practice the skills and mindsets taught in this course. You will submit various role play recordings to the instructor for feedback, and assess your OWN coaching.

MODULE 8 – CONCLUSION: THE COACHING MINDSET AND NEXT STEPS
In this final module, you'll demonstrate your mastery of the material and engage in more actual 1-on-1 coaching, both as coach and coachee.
